Reuniting Families: A Prophetic Call

Before Jesus returns as is prophesied in scripture, God's chosen people Israel, will turn back to each other first and then towards Him. Families will be restored to what Jesus intended them to be. Fathers will lead their wives and children in the ways of the Lord, caring for them gently. They will point them toward Jesus joyfully and in love.  Tending for them and serving them like a gardener cares for his precious garden. They will gather around the table of fellowship with each other again and all the families from their individual places of devotion to one another and to God will then join together as the church in corporate worship and adoration of Jesus, the one true King.

But, before it happens in Israel it must happen across the nations of the world. It is when Israel see the Gentiles not only in intimate relationships with Jesus, but in intimate relationships with each other and then with Jesus as a family unit, that they really become jealous. Through this reconciliation and redemption of family to go back to what the Lord had first intended for family to look like, Israel desires the experience of true, God ordained family for themselves. The prophesy written in Malachi 4:6 says just this, that before Israel turns back to the Lord: '[Jesus] will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers'. Reuniting families, fighting against family separation, division and conflict. Teaching parents how to lead their children by example in the ways of the Lord. Introducing them to the call to fellowship and prayer around the table together.  Bringing deliverance, forgiveness and second chances into households. Helping angry, abusive husbands and wives to reconcile and stay married. All of these things are Godly, prophetic works. Everything in the bible is true, God is holy. He cannot sin. If He cannot sin, that means He cannot lie. The Bible is His Words, not the words of men.  No matter what way you slice it, the bible is His true word. The fact remains the same. Families must reconcile to each other first and then reconcile with the Lord in order to provoke Israel to jealousy. Jealousy for each other and for that deep, fire-filled relationship with the Lord. A jealous desire to walk out their calling both as individual family units and corporately as part of the wider church the way they see the families across the nations doing.

We don't know the day or the hour that Jesus will return, but as Christians we are called to usher in that day.

We do that by following the instructions given to us in scripture and living in a way that quickens the fulfilment of the prophesy laid out in the scriptures. If the Word says it is going to happen before the Lord returns we believe that as disciples of Christ, we should be contributing to making it happen as the Lord leads us in our own individual callings and corporately as the wider church. The way we do mission, discipleship and prayer should be aligning with scripture, the desires of the Lord's heart not the desires of our own. The promises of the Lord to His people are written in scripture. His promises are what need to come to pass, not our own ideas of what we think is good. When we do mission let's fulfil His promises. Helping families who are separated from each other, children living on the streets, parents and children in conflict and division, parents with no biblical leader or Christ-centred social work support available to them. These are the specific people we are personally called to in this bigger story. Leading street children and their families to reconcile with each other and with Christ across the nations is the way this ministry organisation is called to contribute to the work of making Christ known while ushering in the familial style culture of His kingdom that is to come. This is known as the Great commission.
